Week 5

Week 5: Who owns the newspapers and TV stations in your country? Do you think this has an effect on the news that you hear?

Most of the Television and Newspaper in Malaysia are owned directly by the Government of Malaysia or owned by Component parties of the Barisan Nasional coalition government. There are some TV stations  such as RTM owned by government and majorities of the newspapers are owned by the Government of Malaysia such as Berita Harian, Utusan Malaysia and many more.

Yes I think this will effect on the news because we only get a good stories about government as majorities of the media are in government side. The media won’t tell the public about the bad side of the government such as Corruption involving the Politicians. Because of that the opposition parties produce their own newspaper such as Harakah.

 

Week 4

Week 4: How often do you read the paper or watch the news on TV? How important is it for you to keep up with current events?

Newspaper & news on TV one of the media form that give a message to people, and the thing most of the people see it every day especially the old generation people. However the new generation people, their fewer reading newspaper or watch news on TV. This thing happens because of the new generation people use the internet technology to read the news, all the news on the fingertips and we can get all the news around the world.

  

News is most important thing. With it we can know what happen in our surrounding every day. Mostly news gives general knowledge about the world, if we miss it, we will be fall behind and we don’t how to respond if anything happen. Example: health news, if we do not know about the sick news, how to prevent it.

Week 3

Week 3: What is theater  How do you think theater  as a media form, communicates messages to its audience?

According to Wikipedia Theater is a collaborative form of fine art that uses live performers to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place. The performers may communicate this experience to the audience through combinations of gesture, speech, song, music or dance. Elements of design and stagecraft are used to enhance the physicality, presence and immediacy of the experience

Theater was started since people first gather together to listen someone else tell a story. The modern theater right now much different, their no only telling a story using voice as sound media form their also use music in sound media form,  use life acting as physical media form(body language) , stage environment as media form to like printed media.

How the theater performances give messages to the audience? In my opinion most of the messages communicated directly through the dialogue, their acting the body language, the facial expression give a lot of meaning and only this thing can’t deliver the story to the audience.
